Ch13_03_Questions and Answers on Mark Chapter 13

Jesus, taking the temple of Jerusalem as a parable, spoke to us about the last days, when all the religions of this world will be united into one and each religion will lose its distinctive character. The disciples asked when such a thing would happen. At that time the temple of Jerusalem was destroyed, but in this present age it seems that all religions are collapsing. Let us look at verses 4 and 5. “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign when all these things will be fulfilled?” And Jesus, answering them, began to say: “Take heed that no one deceives you” (Mark 13:4–5). Jesus said to take heed that we are not deceived by anyone, and by this He said that in the last days such deceptions become many. Of course, someone may say that if a man comes and claims that he is Jesus Christ, who among those who are born again would believe him; but the Lord is not saying this word now in order to test our faith. If the Lord said to beware of the deception of men, it means that when the last days come, such a world arrives.
